You might right Alex, I am going from memory aswell, in 1991 Leeds and Arsenal met 4 times in 20 days, with the tie being decided on the third replay both clubs only played 1 league game within that 20 day period.

The other thing is both Hyde and Harrogate are quoting the 6th of November for the first round match with us if their replay can't be played in time, which suggests to me it is a date already allocated by the F.A, as niether club could quote that date of their own backs the decision is up to the F.A.

Ah ha it doesn't matter now, if the game is called off it will be played Wednesday at Harrogate railways ground.

I thought I heard that they were going to magic a win over us. So it has to be platform 9 3/4. but of course we all know it won't happen. The train will no doubt be late.

Let's hope so. I just hope that the referee inspecting the pitch tomorrow isn't influenced to call it off again. The best outcome for the Gulls is that the game is on tomorrow, that the ref brandishes several red cards and that the game goes to penalties.

Might nip up to Starbeck tomorrow to watch the game if it's still on and if i can be arsed. Plenty of heavy rain forecast tomorrow so if the Railway pitch is in doubt now ( been up in Yorkshire today and it has been fine, dry and sunny ) then the chances of it going ahead tomorrow are low.

Sounds like there pitch must be better than Harrogate's so hopefully it will go ahead tommorow.

Harrogate Railway Athletic actually played on the pitch last night in a West Riding Cup match against Barnoldswick Town(echoes of Ripping Yarns !)
That can't have helped the chances of the match being played tonight if there's more rain today.

Can see this being a very low attendance, personally. I expected them to do £10 tickets again to try and keep it above 2000 but with it being full price (seems bizarre) it wont be many at all. 3 figures?

I think is was Alex that said that both clubs ie us and Harrogate/Hyde had to agree ticket prices as gate receipts were split 50/50 so i can understand why tickets have to be full price, however, i fully understand if the attendance were to be really low. I can't do the maths, maybe Matt can help us out with that one but if we charged £12 a ticket for example and got more people in would there be more revenue on the actual matchday than if we got far less through the turnstiles paying full whack? Also, if we played Man Utd for example at Plainmoor, would the ticket prices on the pop stay at £17 or would they increase?

I think charging full price admission for this weekends game is an absolute joke. Not wanting to sound like a snob but we are only playing Hyde or Harragate, who I doubt will bring over 100 fans with them.

I could be wrong, but didn't the FA a few years ago give tickets to the semi finals to families, wanting to make the FA Cup a family affair. A family of four are looking at over £50 just for seats. Should have been all in for £10 with maybe kids in for a quid.

Maybe then we might get a decent crowd in.

I can see it being similar to the Yeovil game's attendance even at £10 partly because I dont think either team we play will bring many fans especially since they only have two days to make arrangements to get down here etc. Hopefully we can get 1500 minimum through the gate but if its kept at full price then I wouldnt be surprised if it was a sub 1,000 attendance.

As said before its not really the club's decision if Hyde/Harrogate dont agree to the prices we want to put in then we have to charge normal price.

Sure I read somewhere that Man United wanted to lower prices for the Crawley game but they said no so it stayed at £50 a ticket for away fans..
