Didn't expect to get anything out of this game anyway, still disappointing though. Long season ahead indeed.

How do you work that out???? We had plenty of chances, two off line, one disallowed. They have three chances and score three.
Yes it will be a long season, 46 games long ffs.

Plenty of time chaps...
at 1-3 I think I would have probably put Super Sullivan on for 15minutes of blood and thunder...

Not panicking just yet. The ref was a total w****r. Listening on the Oxford commo (which was brilliant I must say. Non biased and felt sorry for us with some shocking refereeing) we had plenty of chances, but failed to put them away and oxford took theirs very well indeed.
We have a tough month ahead and really need to bounce back at Northampton.

Fonda- it is going to be a bloody long season that's for sure - because at the moment we are garbage.
So far we have:
Somehow scraped a point against a Wimbledon side (who apparently are much better than last season) - oh yes remind me how they got on today - beaten by the mighty Exeter.
Scraped a point against Morecambe - who are also bloody awful. Saved by the post in injury time.
Fluked a 1-0 loss against Swindon.
Got hammered today by the first half decent side we played.
There appears to be have been a massive draw down on the home support today. Thats from a promising crowd of 3500 in the first match against WImbledon. The reason for that crowd was that there was some (misplaced) optimism.
It didn't take long to drain away though. No doubt we will get FL on soon telling us how we should have won 7-1.
We have no cover in central defence and are all over the shop at the moment. As someone else said is it too early to send for Martin LIng. What a let down the start to the season has been.

well the only thing missing was the referee's mum, so we could stick the referee back up her and get a refund! same goes for the lino! how much does it cost to bribe an official?

DONT PANIC!
looking at the positives, many have said this week that they expected to lose this one, oxford have come flying out of the traps whilst we had an injury and suspension in 2 key areas, some were even predicting a heavy defeat.
well its out of the way now and whats done is done. it sounds like we didnt play too badly and gave oxford a good game with the scoreline not reflecting the match.
all the stats were in our favour, we had more shots, corners and overall possession. pretty much everything oxford hit went in the net. it sounds like we had a tw@t of a referee that didnt help matters either.
maybe today was just one of those unlucky days where it all went against us.
the negative apart from losing 1-3 is that we dont appear to have much back up if a few players are missing. it sounds like cruise needs a run at left back but obviously today he couldnt because he was at right back covering tonge. why couldnt a player like mansell with experience of that position played there today.
to say we would miss him too much in midfield is a slap in the face to lathrope and craig surely. all 4 of our cental midfielders should be good enough but knill clearly doesnt rate those 2 much, but if they are not deemed as good enough to get a game even as just a stop gap then why are they here.
even without a lay off from injury would benyon be a first choice ahead of ball or hawley? so we have no excuse about injuries being a problem really. would it have hurt to give sullivan a go, even with 15 mins left. he scored a few in pre season and by all accounts, sounds like the one in the midweek friendly was a cracker.
its very early days yet, it does sound like we were really unlucky and 1-3 was harsh but it could be time to change it up, stop just playing favourites and make some brave and bold decisions mr knill.

Chill out please
. Patience means 10 -15 games not 3. We don't have the luxury of buying success so it's going to take time to jell with what we have, which will cost us the loss of 'silly points' on the way
