BigDave certainly needs to calm down and have a word with his father to go!

Anyway back to the real world, it's an all out team with Dawson and Jarvis starting and Stobbs also back on the bench!

I will predict a win - Farmers 1-3 Torquay

Oh and Gary Out!

Thanks for the acknowledgement - it's always nice to get recognition even if it is from someone who does not seem to understand the meaning of the word "United". Still I'm sure that Gary won't be perturbed by your negativity and he will take huge encouragement from your prediction - you are well placed in the Prediction League: presumably by usually predicting Torquay will lose! Win-win tonight unless it's a draw.

If we were 5th in the league against these who are on a decent run , especially at home. That is a good point .

On a serious note. The commentator on the livestream was in my opinion excellent tonight. Very fair and unbiased. Well done sir !!

Spot on. 0-0 FT

If breaking the run of defeats is a necessary step before winning again then so be it, but we REALLY should be beating Farnborough! Nonetheless, after 5 losses in a row I’ll take a point over a 6th consecutive defeat.

I thought he was auditioning to host a quiz show.

As for the game, we were tight and compact but there was no creativity. Given the team was chosen from the best squad we can muster it appears evident that mid-table is the most we can expect this season.

Positives this evening, fight, determination, grit, Dawson 60 minutes, Jarvis the full game, Stubbs some time at the end. We stood up to a barrage of long throws,

Negatives, defence still looked vulnerable, they did not have the class to exploit it, no goals scored, no flair or imagination.

Very poor referee, but at least equally poor for both sides, and assistances who were told to do nothing unless asked, how they missed some of what was going on……

I didn’t go the Farnborough but I went to Braintree, Worthing & Hereford and felt that the problem wasn’t lack of effort but the limitations of the players and manager.
I don’t think that this team as good as Yeovil or Worthing but the players are probably as good as the other teams in play off positions, however they lack leadership, good management and clear / effective tactics.

Some quotes from Farnborough manager Spencer Day in post match interview:

Torquay: "a fabulous club"; "a very big, big, club"; "big time, pro-time club"; "Torquay have got some fabulous players", "a really good side", "they have got so much quality"; "a really, really strong side".

Always good to have someone taking a look from the outside in.

Yes, and he also stated that Gulls will probably make the playoffs and win the playoffs!!, strange comment because surely he's trying to get Farnborough in the playoffs himself? (I know that's a longshot but if it's possible you surely have to go for it), weird message to send out to his own players, is he forgetting the fact we've already lost 15 league games?..

Is he after Johnsons job? They should have had a penalty for handball. Our defence still didn't look secure to me.

We did not lose and we did not concede, two unusual positives for us , but it was not a quality watch, our back three/four/five have now some bite and strength which has been lacking all season,I do not see tomlinson displacing any of them anytime soon, midfield was ok with the exception of Mcgavin who is just too lightweight, great when he has some space but teams has learnt that keeping tight on him makes the point of having him on the pitch a waste of a shirt number, he cannot or will not tackle, a prerequisite for a midfielder, I seen more aggressive tackling from our under 11's, He reminds me so much of hoddle without the talent, wanders round most of the game at walking pace and scores the odd wonder goal. Not sure what Moxey was up to last night, at times he was a winghalf, then a left winger , then an inside left, neither of which really came off. Best player on the park last night by a country mile was their midfielder Kuhl, has the workrate of Lapslie and the steel of Marshall, Jarvis did well lasting 90 odd minutes, the more I see the more I like Booth, he has pace and a good cross on him. Lets see how many of them Johnson can injure in training before saturday.
