I argee only with part of what your saying here Fletch,i have not seen the replay yet,however if my memory serves me right,Bevan came out ,then stopped and then came again,now that is something that no goalkeeper is taught to do.
if a goalkeeper makes the decision to come out narrow the angle and make himself big then he must follow it through,and not stop half way out,in my opinion if Bevs had not stopped he would have got there and made the block,yep midson may well have still scored,and yep the back four let midson in,however i think bevs will know he could have done better with that one.
I imagine their 'interest' such that it is, diminished after that yesterday. 1 up-front at home? Unecessarily cautious. What a surprise that the moment we changed to 4-4-2, we gained the initiative. And then, having taken control of the game, and looking most likely to win it, we replace our most creative player with basically another centre-half and relinquish control again. Not his greatest day i reckon. As i said to Dave (Forever) yesterday, i'd personally be more disappointed to lose Benners than Bucks. Controversial?

So just as a matter of interest, who would you play in CM if we played 4-4-2? Would you drop Wroe to play O'Kane? Dont say play them both, because I dont think either of them is a good enough ball winner to break up the opposition midfield play in the way that Manse does/Greavsie used to...
I would, yes. Wroe went through a period of looking like his old self, but it was all too brief judging by yesterday and in terms of creative influence, Eunan knocks him into a cocked hat. Personally, i'd have Manse back in midfield alongside O'Kane, with Robbo back at RB. Certainly at home, where the onus should be on us to win the game.

Got to agree with Dave here, Fletch. The tiniest bit of doubt crept in as Bevs hesitated, which proved costly.
The sarcastic cheers when he caught the ball after that were extremely unneccessary, though. I don't know whether he heard them or not, but if he did then that's reallly going to help is confidence, which already seems shattered a fair bit.

Totally agree with you (although I thought Wroe played quite well yesterday). The last time I suggested Wroe should be replaced I was roundly lambasted by pretty much everyone (not that I worry about that )
I still think 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1 would suit us better though with Manse/EoK/Oastler or Wroe in CM...
Surely if he is so 'ambitious', he would stay here and get us promoted. I wont deny that it's a step up, but I don't think Bristol Rovers is enough of a step up to leave us yet.
On the other hand, if we're on the verge of selling our star players, who he has signed and helped get to where they are, then who could blame him for wanting to go to a bigger club?
I doubt Bucks will be a big enough 'name' for Charlton.
Stay here and get us promoted, with our budget I'd say that's going to be a real tough ask. Not impossible because teams have done it before and we are competitive in this league now but to be honest you want to be making reinforcements now. The likelihood is we're going to lose Benyon minimum. If Buckle goes I imagine he'd want Benyon and Ellis possibly O'Kane if his new club could afford them, as well as taking Shaun North, Kenny and Damian. Losing Buckle now would be a disaster for us. There is no one out there available that we could afford that we could bring in to manage these players better. Especially when that new manager won't get any major resources to bring new players in.
Bucks goes, the wheels will come off. It's a good job we've had an excellent start to the season overall because there's no realistic danger of us going down.
