Sadly par for the course I guess Richinns.

Considering the previous manager clearly didnt seem interested in playing anyone as a "conventional" winger what was he supposed to do?
Ignore what the manager and coach tell him and hug the touchline?
Apathy Rules...............it's ok though, nobody's that fussed about it........

Well that got the ladies reaching for their handbags.

A simple thank you of course is in order :

Thank you AK for seeing the obvious and then acting upon it.

Where Danny is concerned, Troj is Chief 'Enthusiastic Encouragement' Officer. I can't believe we're up to 6 pages without Troj calling him Dorothy instead.

Trojan's comments were, I thought, distasteful to say the least. And he even forgot to mention two great wingers from the early sixties: Larry Baxter and Ernie Pym! I reckon the fifties and sixties were the Gulls' golden age, even though they never quite made it into Division Two (Championship). I'm not saying Danny Stevens was actually in the same league as those players, but certainly he never had the chance to realise his full potential during his period here: the club hardly ever used a system which involved playing proper wingers (probably out of necessity, to be fair to Ling and Knill). Here's hoping Danny will find a club which will fully utilise his talents in the future.

Saddens me to see the nasty vitriol on here, aimed at a player who served the club well. He wasn't our best player, but he was far from our worst. Totally undeserved, shameful comment.

Why Trojan why?

At least Danny did some positive things whilst at the club, we've had some awful players in the past!

Well, RobboTUFC, I lived in Ellacombe and I think Trojan's post is a disgrace and totally unwarranted. When derogatory remarks were made about Rene Howe, we were promised that such postings would not be tolerated and would be deleted. That promise didn't last long, did it? Danny Stevens served this club well. Along with others who have posted on this thread, I wish him well. It was probably time for him to move on and I hope he finds a club that will re-vitalise his career. Good Luck, Danny .... and thanks.

To move on from Trojan's disgraceful post - I have heard a rumour that Danny is on trial at Argyle. That would be really weird but I wish him all the best none-the-less!

:O

Argyle over the years have had better wingers than Torquay.

There really are some limp dicks on here - the product of politically correct brainwashing. A few harsh words and you're up swinging yer 'andbags.

It's been noted there are some notable names who have refused to join in with this Dorothy (I've said it Matt) ass licking fest. You posters who have refused to brown nose Dot have my total respect, cos yer seen what I seen.

Beware Red Big Necks, limp dicks who are easily offended are out to politically correct the forum to THEIR sanitised version.

If Dot had been black, imagine the uproar with the N word thrown in.

There really are some t*ts on this forum.

There's a difference between being politically correct and politically naive.

Cheers Danny for some great memories over the years! All the best for the future!

You're free to not click on the link which opens the thread. I am sick of Volkswagens, do I, A) not buy a VW or B) campaign for VWs to be banned from British roads?
