John Marquis
It would appear Steve Lomas has been relieved of his duties at Millwall.
We can only hope that the new manager, whoever it may be, does not want to recall Marquis and have a look at him etc, and we can only hope that the new manager would be happy for us to keep him for an extra month should the option to do so be there.
Marquis has settled quickly and made a real difference and losing him would be a disaster in my opinion.

Great minds think alike, although I did it in a much tidier way.
Agree, he has lead the line superbly in the last few matches.

Would indeed be bad news, he has lead the line superbly recently and given the defences some real problems. Really hope that Millwal take a couple of weeks or so to decide on a new manager.

Awful timing for sure. If he goes back we'll lose a vital component of our change in form, he has been pivotal in the new formation. I know Stockley has come here with a decent pedigree but it's a big ask for him to replace Marquis and essentially we will be back to square one. I think the best we can hope for is that he will be here until NYD, after that all we can do is wait and see.
I thought Marquis' loan was up soon anyway? Certainly before the Argyle game, and maybe even before Saturday?
The whole situation isn't great news, but at least for the time being we have Stockley. Now I've not seen him play, but he's obviously decent enough that Bournemouth have kept hold of him and Leyton Orient wanted him on board. He hasn't had the chance to show us what he can do, so lets just be grateful we have him as an option and aren't reduced to Hawley yet

Pretty sure I happened to see on twitter yesterday that Marquis has just kitted a flat out in Torquay so he must have been planning to stay for a while yet. Certainly if he has any say in the matter I'm sure he'll want to remain here, lets hope the Millwall hierarchy agree to it.
According to Knills after match interview Marquis wants to stay but we are waiting on Millwall.
Seeing the teamsheet I guess he's returned home?

Would be nice to be told either way though. :~D
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
I see that Alan Knill in his post match interview confirmed that Marquis has a cyst on his groin and has gone back to Millwall for treatment. It seems he's had this trouble before so Millwall know how to treat it. When will he back? Knill also mentioned that Millwall now have a new manager and seemed unclear if / when Marquis will return. A huge blow in my opinion as Marquis was making a huge difference in our attack.
Knill also mentioned Stockley will be back from Bournemouth on Tuesday. I guess there's a chance Stockley will be tried against Plymouth on Wednesday?

Given that he likes to maraude forward, and is comfortable on the ball, O'Connor wouldn't be the worst option if we want to go with a big guy up theregullno4 wrote:if he we haven't got marquis, and we do have Stockley, then 100% Stockley has to be played, if not, I'd put Pearce up there!
