Griff you prompted me to have a look at NL(S) and NL(N) . . .
I couldn't spot any NL(S) Clubs with EFL pedigree but the NL(N) includes York City, Chester (City), Boston Utd, Darlington, Gateshead, Southport, Hereford, Kettering, Kiddersminster, and Bradford P.A. - all these Clubs ex EFL and some of long standing and note.
That's quite surprising - is the standard of football in the 'N' higher than in the 'S' or is the South the rising force at this level ?
Good luck to Josh Gowling ! Thanks.

Kettering have never been in the Football League. Gateshead are an entirely different club from the one that was in the league (not just a reformed Phoenix version but a completely separate entity). Boston only got into the league on the back of Steve Evans and his brown envelopes so you can't really count them either.
As to your point about the standard, hard to say but those promoted from the South have gone straight back down in recent years so it may well be that the North is stronger, they certainly get larger attendances.

Jerry - you are correct about Kettering - they have a lively history but never quite made it to the EFL.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kettering_Town_F.C. - as you can see, Kettering are now managed by a certain Paul Cox.
Re. NL (N), surprising to see so many ex EFL Clubs but none in NL (S) . . . .

I notice that Martin Kuhl is now manager of Staines FC. They play in the Isthmian league, south central division.
