I think Moxey returning to LB will make a world of difference with Ness & Ellis in the middle and Donnellan on the opposite flank given his strong performances of late.
Evans returning is a big boost, particularly if Da Silva can return quickly as it gives us wide options. Also agree would like to see Smith in the middle, perhaps alongside Wearne who seems less effective out wide.

So far you've named 6 loan players in the match day squad (7 if we include Goodwin) when we can only have 5

Good point - I’d overlooked the fact that Evans is on loan.
I wonder if Ellis could be signed on contract terms until the end of the season to alleviate the problem?

Ellis could become our leading own goal scorer. Frankly I don’t believe he’s worth keeping on.
And just who do you think we are going to sign thats any better ?
Are you mad ! Have you been watching the games he's played in ? just because he scored an own goal...

Ellis is a decent pro but hes hardly stablised the defence - Hes far too slow to be honest. If Smith is still here and Evans is back then something has to give. Ness is the better of the two centre halves so I'd keep him.
Wigan are going to get pissed off before long if Smith cant play We've got far too many loan signings - its ridiculous.
