It's just a shame not many others can't put forward a sensible and balanced view.

To be honest, unless we're going for two quality keepers to share the first team jersey, we're not going to get a better backup really? He's in our price range, hard working, and wants to push Olejnik for the first team jersey. Isn't that what you want from a second keeper?

agree top post,Ian.

I dont think Ricey is the worst ever keeper Tufc have had, like to put two names forward who think were worse,Bertrand Bossu, only played two games for us after Arjen left, however this guy probaly is the worst keeper in the history of football ever, and not forgetting awful Gottskalsson, not to mention a few others.

I have no problem as a fan welcoming Ricey back,he deserve's another chance.

Assuming this deal goes through, my first reaction is a bit like when we signed McPhee - "Oh God no!". Awful in his last spell at the club (a long punt going through his hands at Altrincham sticks in the mind) and far from the marquee signings we all hope for to get us excited for the season.

However, after pausing and reading the views of others, as with McPhee, the possibility exists that he has improved (both in temperament and as a player) and he is someone that can do a necessary job for the team at the right price. If he has to come on and has a stinker I'll slate him with the rest of you but for now he has a clean slate and a fresh chance.

Everything is now signed and done. Would imagine the bit on the OS will appear in the next hour.

Think Teebo's post was more of a plea, which would suggest he has no news on any notable signings.

Good to see some balanced, sensible views on Martin Rice here, rather than the lynch mob approach of Brucie and Hector. Brucie's comments remind me of Private Frazer.
