500 tickets!? That's shocking! We should have sold out by now FFS! We have been playing well, picked a few good results, playing Argyle in the league for the first time in yonks and we have 500 tickets left, that is ridiculous!
If you ask me, I think those 500 tickets will just be bought from Argyle fans

forevertufc hits the nail on the head once again.
I know of at least three people, and thats just personally, that won't end up being at the game because 1) They weren't aware it was all ticket and 2) were just expecting to turn up on the day and go in. For the floating supporter, they can't be bothered to make an extra trip up to go and get a ticket, they just want to turn up on the day and go in.
Why are we not selling the extra 500 on the day and letting people pay on the gate? I'd bet they'd be a couple of hundred who would 'pay on the gate'. Simple, hand out all the surplus tickets to the turnstile operators, and as they let someone pay on the gate discard one of the tickets and so on.

Simple answer - the police wouldn't allow it. Not the clubs fault.

Not really. Selling them on the day would invite more Argyle fans into our end...

Perhaps, but I still believe it would allow us to get some more of those 'floating' supporters in. Anyway, we might as well let it fill up with a few more Argyle, we should take their money and then kick them out anyway.

Got my tickets today and I'm really looking forward to it now. Time to stop the negativity and start the build up. I don't care if I'm there singing on my own I've waited for this for years.
Altogether now,,,

This is the club's fault. A lack of clear communication will once again cost us at the turnstiles. Added to this a lack of an effective marketing strategy then you get unsold tickes for what should be a sell out. It's no good blaming the apathy of the S.Devon public, the club should be doing something about it that is EFFECTIVE. I would hope the building of the new stad is part of a new marketing strategy but I am not aware fo such an appraoch. Whats the point of buliding a new stand to have it half empty most of the time. Ling and the palyers are doing their bit - others at the club need to make sure they are doing the same.

For me it's a bit of both. The club have marketed this game no more or less than any other derby game that I can remember yet this is set to be the worst attendance for a Derby game I've ever experienced. Half the population of the bay seem unaware we have a team here. The club needs to do more to generate interest in the bay. The key is advertisement.

Got 2 tickets today for me and the girlfriend, wasn't sure if i could make this one with money being so tight lately but she has kindly offered to pay for me so will not say no.
Shocked that Argyle are treating this game like its their cup final and yet we cannot even sell out against the slime. Still, lets not kid our selves... Argyle are nothing to get excited about these days
, in fact i'd be more interested in seeing us beat Rovers at home just to hear more of Buckles excuses.

It's unfortunate that all tickets for the game have not flown off the shelf in a short period of time. Many reasons have been put forward as to why.
Here's a few more :
The economic situation is hitting home hard.
Some Argyle "fans" are less than "well behaved" and being in home areas has some home fans "concerned".
From and including this Saturday, there are only 36 shopping days to Christmas.
On that note, I would like to be the first to wish everyone a peaceful and happy November the 19th this Saturday.

Again another big mistake from the club. You cannot publish a closing time for tickets and then a few hours later change it. A lot of people don't finish work until 5 which gives them half an hour to get to Plainmoor?? Very unlikely for some. Especially for those who have no realised its the last chance for tickets. What happened no members of staff willing to work late????

Way around that is to ask the club to put your tickets back for collection on the morning of the game, and pay over the phone.

If folk that actually live in and around the bay who previously used to go to Plainmoor can 't be bothered to get a ticket for a home game against argyle then i don't see them paying on the day either. Leave them to their own devices whilst we carry on being Gulls fans. God i bet some of them would think twice about getting a ticket if we were at home to Man Utd . Good riddance i say.
