Nicholson NOT Out
Okay, for all the pedants out there who seem perfectly happy to pick apart an analogy but not face facts:
WE DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY AND SO CAN'T REPLACE OUR MANAGER.
Does that sink in? My God...

While watching that tv though you get to sit on a great leather 3 piece suite thst someone else paid for and you get to dig your heels in over who operates the remote control.Fantasia wrote:Your family would like to watch television. The previous one is broken. You have enough money to buy a basic set for them, which you do.
It is not a top of the range t.v., but it is better than nothing.
Your family complains about the television even though they would not have had one without you.
So should you just have told them to do without and kept the £50 for something else?
Or gone into debt because your family had unrealistic expectations?
Or suggested they travel to the nearest city which had a t.v. they could watch?
Surely this analogy is a little more relevant.

There are some real idiots in the crowd, mocking the team, on Sunday particularly Heslop, and it was uncalled for as he was one of our better players. In fact my son and his mate said to me (and these kids are just 13 years old so just say what they see) "why are they making fun of him, when he's the only one who doesn't give the ball away?"
The fans seem oblivious to the financial problems at the club and the pressures on everyone there.
Better to back the players we have, cos they are all we have, and with a couple of results and the backing and support of the "supporters" then surely the confidence on the pitch can grow and then we might really see performances of individuals and the team improve.
So, quit moaning about the manager and the team, and get behind them.

You are joking, right? Heslop looks like he's never play d pro football before. He is absolutely appalling, and was again on Saturday. Just because he managed to pass the ball backwards five yards doesn't make up for the 10 times he gave I away, was out of position, stood ball watching, made the wrong decision, was slow.... Does this list need to go on?
Torquay have the nicest fans in the world. Any other club would have had more fans staying away, and been booing a lot longer than just one game. However how long can you continue to sanction unacceptable performances? If you stand there and clap, as people did in Saturday, the message you are sending to those players is "that was fine, lads." You're telling them that that level of effort, commitment and professionalism is ok with you. Well, you know what, it wasn't fine with me.

I buy my replacement on my credit card. Within 6 weeks I have got £60 as all my family have come back. I use this to pay off my credit card and interest. Everything after that is money in my pocket. I am now making money, rather than sitting in a completely empty house watching a set that is broken, rubbish, and not fit for purpose.
Anyway, you should really stop, because your analogy is rubbish, as is my reply. It bears no relation to the facts of running a football club as a BUSINESS. if businesses ran as you suggest, literally none would ever start.

My post was merely to humour you, seeing as you think 2-dimensional analogies are an acceptable way of explaining what's happening at the club, but if you really want to play that gangame...Glostergull wrote:.
Right i will spell it out for you too. Your won version is rubbish. why. because you have failed the initial exercise of simple arithmetic.
If you initially had £50 in the bank and it would buy a TV. then it suggests that $50 is what a TV costs.
Your outlay having been spent you now only have 0 in the bank. get it. so you in your own words said charge your own family £1 each to come round and watch, that's £10 for the one event. get it.. the one event. then you suggested that you found the TV unfit for purpose and lets say 4 drop out. so you only get £6 from the second event. so far all you have recouped is £16. but still your TV is unfit for purppose. and you lose even more of those people so lets say you only recoup £4 from the third event. because another 2 have dropped out. you only have 4 people to carry on watching. so the third event is now only going to attract £4 at most. so by the third event all you have in the bank is £20 even allowing for no one dropping out on the fourth event all you will have is £24 in the account. this is still not enough to replace the TV with as the cheapest is £40. and that will not buy a TV which will attract as many people to watch it as its not such a good one. Have I made my point yet., gee some of you really take the biscuit. ooh no you don't. cos we can't afford biscuits with the tea any more

As a midfielder, Heslop does not take responsibility for creating anything. As KitRobin has posted, when he gets the ball his first reaction is to pass the ball sideways or backwards to the nearest player, thus putting the responsibility on someone else (it's often Richards). He also has an uncanny knack of being where the ball isn't. However, it was reported that he had a good game at full back on Tuesday night. Although it was only Chesham, maybe he will make a better full back than a midfield player. Presumably, he will play right back at Chester on Saturday IF the game is on. It's still raining up there ....

Well you certainly showed us your incredible knowledge. so you buy it on a credit card. and think that your family would come back and you will have £60 in the bank to pay off all bills and have some profit. thats the awful line of thought that would get us in a big big mess. its spend in the hope that they come back. but the reailty is they don't. and thats why we only have just over 1500 coming each week. on average. So buy some new better players with money we have not got.. oh wonder where that money will come from. the Bank.. nah don't think so.! then spend even more money replacing the manager. with a new one with even less gaurantee that he will bring success. than kevin will on nil budget. I think you will find that Harry potter was a myth. a book written out of someones imagination. its not fact it's fiction. and that just about sums up your ideoology and point of reference. if Alex Ferguson were to come here for nothing right now he couldn't do any more than Kevin could. cos we have all we have at the moment. there is no money from anywhere
we can of course spend the money we haven't got on a Christmas cake. at least that will leave a pleasant taste in the mouth

Here's the basics (because I've had enough of TV, credit cards and other shit)
We have precious little money, certainly not enough to either sack the current manager or bring in another one.
We have looked at a number of players to bring in, but most of them seem to want something called a wage before they will play for us - we can't afford to give them what they want.
The club needs investment from people who are willing to put up money, but not to then want to screw us over - for example one recent "investor" would only invest if they were allowed the rights to the ground (I think we all know who that is....)
The club needs the fans to stay loyal and keep coming through the gate(s), which is fine except there is more excitement and fun getting kicked in the bollocks than there is watching the Gulls at the moment.
So, I'm afraid that until the club can afford a colour TV, like all those around us seem to have, we will have to make do with a black and white one for now - cheaper fees (license fees), but not as good on quality.
Now, lets move on - nothing more to see here surely?!

Strangely enough, I'm feeling quite positive about Kevin Nicholson now..
You guys think it's fine to boo and cheer for the other team?
I disagree. I know we all pay to go in there and for some they feel that gives them the right to do whatever, I think this kind of negativity is counter productive.
You moan if a guy keeps the ball, you boo if he loses it.
Nice one lads.

'Lingy Vision' fine for some,
But others want the Ginger one,
TV Repairman Knill for hire,
That'll leave us in the mire.
The picture's worse, a massive bill,
Thanks TV Repairman Knill.
We're out of cash, your work was poor,
Our telly's bust, now there's the door.
'KEV TV' our final bet,
A local reconditioned set.
It's hardly costing us a bean,
The other choice? A big blank screen !

I agree. Must stay positive.
And now that Nicho has been kicked out of the Apprentice by Lord Sugar, he'll have more time to devote to his manager's job
