And so it begins! Osborne is using the prospect of creating a new stadium as an excuse to build houses on park land and literally make millions.

This is all so glaringly obvious and sickening.

Nightmare in Nightingale Park. All very well talking about the plans but how is it to be financed? No doubt this preliminary grand scheme will end up be watered down to provide some form of cabbage patch playing field with jumpers for goal posts! CO is a charlatan surely. Whatever plans evolve they will need to be scrutinised thoroughly!

To be fair, the key sentence is this part for me.

"The future of Plainmoor cannot be considered until the new stadium development is complete."

If true, and the council have implemented a rule that states they cannot touch Plainmoor until the new stadium is signed off, then there's hope for a future home.

Of course, it could become the next Ricoh Arena, but at least that's better than nothing at all.

Mr Oliver had better get this wrapped up quick . His post as Mayor is relinquished in May 2019 when it reverts to a council style set up. I suspect it will be more tricky to push anything through from then on .

That would be good. A decent all-seater stadium that could push TUFC into the Championship, top acts coming west for music concerts, and Wasps could play there every other week instead of Truro City!

Whilst Devon Live publish their 'Exclusive' it seems they are assuming 'The future of Plainmoor cannot be considered until the new stadium development is complete' whereas that promise is glaring missing from the TUFC Official Club statement. I wonder why!

"the development will be an “expandable” 10,000-seat community stadium"

I think we are meant to assume this means it will be 10,000 seats which could be expanded.

More likely to mean it will be a 2,000 seat mini stadium with the "possibility" of expansion to 10,000!

This is not even pie in the sky, it’s more like dog shit on the pavement. GI have not delivered any successful stadium project and I suspect they never will.

One of GI’s most successful projects is the National Bowl at Milton Keynes which has a capacity of 65,000.
Isn't this basically just a big hole in the ground?

Further, Wikipedia says "Gaming International handed The Bowl back to Milton Keynes Partnership towards the end of 2010 – so it is unlikely that any of the plans outlined in 2006 will ever be undertaken" which doesn't exactly fill you with confidence.

"One of GI’s most successful projects is the National Bowl at Milton Keynes which has a capacity of 65,000.

GI also operates stadia at Swindon, Poole and Reading"

...so did they build the National Bowl ? is there actually stadia to operate at Swindon and Pool . This is contrary to what I have seen on this forum. Could it be the HE are misinformed ? will we see a "Guy Henderson" trophy next (£)
