Sammy Collins got five hat-tricks in the 1955/56 season.

This site has all the stats, although not added in Andrews’ efforts at the weekend.

I see also that there were 3 other seasons when 3 hat tricks were scored but one player got 2 of them. So to answer my own question 3 different players scoring a hat trick in one season is a first. 5 hat tricks in 1 season, amazing! Poor old Walsall on the end of 2 of them!
