Solihull Moors v Torquay United - Tues 6th August 19:45 KO

Post by Midlandgull »

Solihull v Torquay is our first away fixture and one closest to me so I'm definitely going. I'm annoyed it's a Tuesday night though as this is a fairly good one for TUFC fans to get to from the South West on a normal Saturday fixture.

How many do you think we will take? In previous years we've had a good following there, even on night fixtures!

The season we went down, Solihull stayed up and then had a fantastic season last time out just missing out on promotion. There's evidence that anything can happen in this league judging by Solihull's change in fortunes. They look strong with Blissett leading their line and it's too early to know where we are at with the quality in our side. I'd take a draw now but think we will go there looking to win under Sir Gary.

I went twice to Solihull two seasons ago. First game just before kick off and us in the club bar when the ,monsoon outside cancelled the game. Went back for the rearranged game too. Despite this being midweek again it , stupidly enough , one of our more nearer fixtures this season. 300-350 I would think

I think 300+ for a midweek game with a 6 hour ish round trip might be a bit ambitious. I’d be happy with around 200 there to be honest but seeing how well we travelled last season it wouldn’t surprise me if we took a few more.
Three of us are travelling up from Milton Keynes, hour and a bit travel and easy to get to so looking forward to it!

I remember going March time during our relegation season when we’d had all of that snow, never been so cold in all of my life, it truly was bitter!!! Finished 1-1 but we should have picked up all 3 points that day.

You have to take quite a few northern fans will go. They must have thought after relegation they wouldn't see us back in this league so soon. Kids are off too so they will be able to go also. Certainly 300+

I think the Northern/Central fans part is true and the bonus that its summer holidays, maybe we can get a few more than a usual Tuesday night.

I think the last two times we had pretty good followings and when we won 1-0 in the 90th minute it was a good atmosphere that night.

Add 4 from Wigan. I was their the other season when sparkles scored that late goal, brilliant support. Tbh, the ground falls into guiesley territory in regards to being poor, but the locals make up for that, really friendly club.

:lol: Solihull's ground has changed , beyond recognition ..

* New Main Stand

* Roof across 4 sides of the ground.

* Away bar area 🍺🍷🍸🍹🥂🍻 - you have around 350 standing and 350 seats .

* Brand new surface car park.

We ( Moors ) look forward to seeing you on Tuesday ( M5 has few , if any average speed cameras !!!. , before forking off onto M42..

Safe journey.

Look forward to visiting you in March 2020.

😎👍

Brand new Main Stand.

Ground now meets Football League standards. :clap:

You have a designated Away bar area at Moors.

Roof coverings on all 4 sides of the ground.

A complete Ground Revamp , to meet Football League standards:

* Designated Away Bar 🍻 at ground.

* Choice of standing or sitting " under cover ".

* Brand new Main Stand

* On Line discounted tickets , at very reasonable cost.

The M5 and M42 does NOT have any major roadworks or those annoying average speed cameras , like 30mph.

Two sides who can play " attacking " football.

We look forward to seeing you , on Tuesday night.

Good atmosphere , from both sets of supporters.

Regards
