Ramarni Medford-Smith, a left-back. Has had a previous loan experience at Wealdstone and has played in the Football League Trophy for Reading U-23s as well.

This could suggest Liam Davis injury is worse than we thought

Yes does suggest Liam could well be out of action for a couple on months.
Medford-Smith played 23 games for Reading under 23's last season and played 10 games for Wealdstone.
Reading offered him a new contract in July which suggests he has potential.
Peter Johnson obviously rates him so just what we need in a very specialist position.
Good news.
Welcome to Torquay United Ramarni.

Does anyone know what the situation is regarding loan players getting long term injuries. Both CLE and Opi Edwards are both out with long term injury. Can they be returned to Bristol City allowing us to get in loan replacements.

No point sending them back as such if there's a chance they'll still be able to play for us. We can't get any more on loan from Bristol City as we've reached our limit of four players from one club, unless we get someone in on a youth loan iirc.

We can only sign short term loanees until we get to January, then it depends on how many long term loanees we've already signed. We're only allowed 6 per season of those (those ones are loans that either last the whole season, Jul/Aug-Jan or Jan-May). Think at the moment we've signed 4 or 5 long term loanees depending on when the Cundy deal was agreed (though if he's here until January then his loan would be over 93 days anyway so guess counts as a long term loan).

Perhaps Medford-Smith played against us for Wealdstone last March? I thought they looked a very good team then and we were rather fortunate to beat them 3-2

We’ve done exceptionally well to be 2 points from top with the bad luck we’ve had with injuries so far this season. Lots of good players to come back into contention over the next couple of months...

No he didn't appear in either of the games against us last season. He must have been on the radar for a while considering he was brought in so quickly after Davis' injury.

I think Uptongull this is why Gary and Peter Johnson are so outstanding as they are always thinking ahead.

They both knew that at Left Back we had a problem if the ever present Liam Davis got injured because it is such a specialist position.

Forgetting Goalkeepers it is the one position that even versatile players struggle with and the immediate response from Management is very encouraging.

We sure have been very unlucky with injuries.

Agree. Who knows. Our luck could change and after the new year we have a fully fit squad when other teams start suffering casualties!

Agreed! If we have a fully fit squad we will be very dangerous. I'd like to see a couple of midfielders back ASAP though, maybe Andrews and Hall aren't far off!

I think the new signing was more rushed due to the fact Lewis won’t be available till next weekend due to playing with Wales under 21s. My worry is can we even fill the bench Saturday?

We need a game changer from the bench, so if Jake is fit I’d start him and bring Kalala on from the bench. He’s more suited to come on last 20-30 from the bench.

Conor is back early December is the word, he started back on grass this week.

Little is early January.

Hall late November early December according to Gary in his interview last Thursday pre Maidstone game. His toe is fully healed. He picked up another knock in his ankle or Achilles.

Opi I don’t think we’ll see him in a Torquay shirt again, his loan ends January 1st and he’s constantly injured.
