Well it’s all been a bit doom and gloom since March, and I sincerely hope everyone and close family has got through this pandemic. So let’s look forward to the forthcoming season with the fixtures being released at 11am tomorrow. Who knows what % of fans will be able to attend but getting some normality is well due. Hopefully the NL will allow a % Of away fans to attend games. We all know we will play either Yeovil or Weymouth over Christmas but let’s hope for a balanced set of season fixtures.

Playing Stockport is good and all but who’s going to play LB against the favourites. With one of the best strikers in the league in Connor Jennings
Moxey being suspended for first 3 and Davis still a long way away.
God dam could have given us Weymouth or someone easier

Rather play them first up tbh....
At least we have options at the back.....
Maybe a back 3....

Whoever it is , he can't be worse than when we had to play Chaney there a few seasons ago. Maybe Andrews as left wing back or in a four didn't Cameron play there a couple of times last season ?

Cameron played left back at Yeovil on Boxing Day. To judge his suitability for the role one only needs to look at the scoreline from that game...

Just been having a close look through the 20/21 Fixture List. Gawd - this is a punishing schedule. First match October 3rd. By October 3rd last season, we had played 14 games! Almost a third way through the season. Although the season has been extended from the end of April until the end of May, there are a lot of extra fixtures to fit in. I think clubs with small squads, or with part-time players, will struggle. There is very little leeway for matches being postponed because of bad winter weather to be re-arranged. I predict that there will be a mad scramble to re-arrange games in April and May when there are a few 'blank' Tuesdays. I feel sorry for any teams that go far in the F.A. Trophy. They really will have a backlog of fixtures to catch up on.
However, the compilers seem to have been quite kind to us as we only have two mid-week games during the worst winter months November - February (although I realise winter runs from August until June up North, Super Nicky). They are December 1st - Wealdstone (when the weather shouldn't be too bad) and February 23rd - Solihull Moors (when hopefully the worst of the winter weather will be over, and evenings will be drawing out). Solihull Moors come to Plainmoor on Nov 17th, Maidenhead on Dec 8th, Sutton Utd on Jan 26th and Wealdstone on Feb 9th.
October 3rd just three weeks away ....... COME ON YOU GULLS !!

Reading yesterday's statement by Brian Barwick, chairman of the National League, it appears that the new season will only start on 3rd October if some supporters are allowed back at grounds. He has written to the government asking for clarification on supporter attendance at games, saying " The National League restart depends upon crowds being allowed back in stadiums as live attendance is our club's largest source of income". I personally think that it's 50/50 weather we start the season on the 3rd of October.

Yep - the way Covid cases are going it's looking increasingly unlikely that crowds will be allowed back any time soon. Warning bells must be sounding all around professional sport.

I am not so sure - the' rule of six' is for us mere mortals who live in family households to prevent granny from coming around for Christmas. Operations that have money tills that
ka-ching are exempt. You can still go to paid events with mass participation such paint-balling or grouse shooting with reasonable social distance measures.
For example. last week-end 3,500 runners paid £38 (
ka-ching) to run the Kew Gardens 10k which included Former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sajid Javid. The 3,500 runners were spread out over different arrival times and holding zones, while starting four at a time to get around the 'rule of six'. This does not mean they did not congregate by the hundreds whilst running around the course. Whilst friends and family of runners were supposedly not able to spectate inside Kew Gardens this year, all were welcome to enter Kew Gardens afterwards to make a day of it. So how many in the park - 10,000 ? - a little more than the 'rule of six' don't you think.
Ka-ching!
