I hate to start this thread but I have just had a text saying Paul Buckle has been Seen at The Mem and He has been interviewed and accepted the job. I sincerely hope not but this has now come to me from Both Bristol and Torquay

He'd be an absolute pillock to do this right before the play offs.

I have heard from a Rovers fan that he was seen at or very near the Mem Yesterday. It may have been something to do with players and I hope this is the truth of the matter rather than what some may have surmised. I would be staggered if he agreed to a new job just before the playoffs and was commited to going if we went up. I know he likes a challenge but there are challenges and then there is Bristol Rovers. Nuff said

Buckle 2/1 favourite with Victor Chandler to be next boss at BR, if anyone fancies a punt to soften the blow!!

It'd be a strange one. It's hardly much progression, career-wise, is it?

Agree. Especially if we go up and BR are in the state of chaos as suggested. Just glad most of the squad signed up for next season so, if Buckle was to go, he would not be able to poach players without shelling out for them.

I would be disappointed if he was to take another job days before such an important couple of matches. So I hope he was there to discuss players.

Guys - this thread is absolutely not what we need before Saturday so I think it would be best to ignore it. Its all speculation and probably nonsense. Lets get back to what s important and stop this before it becomes big enough to effect our promotion push.

I would be very dissapointed in Buckle if he went to Bristol Rovers. I don't think anyone would begrudge him a move to a top half league one side, or of course higher, but I think anything other than that and it would hardly be progression.

If we don't get promoted, I think he'll leave. But, if we do and he then left for Bristol Rovers, seems ridiculous to me.

Here's the scenario. Buckle's always stated he wants to his "finish his job" at Torquay (blatantly promotion) & we're in the playoffs with, to be honest, 3 teams aren't exactly light years ahead of us in quality.

So, what does he do despite having such a golden chance of promotion to league 1? Ahh, of course, goes & opens contract talks with Bristol Rovers 3 days before our biggest game of the season. Yeah right. Sorry can't see it being true.

I can't find it now but only a week or two ago there was a piece on the os in which Buckle alluded to his plan and that next season he'd have something to build on. So I'm leaning on the side of it not being true but it's a rumour that's come about at the wrong time.
Is your friend a Shrewsbury fan Gloster trying to use scare tactics to unsettle us all? :na:
