The result Buckle wanted??

Apologies, I think a mixture of frustration and alchol caused me to post this last night.
With hindsight I can see that it was a stupid thing to suggest.
Can this thread be deleted?

Agree with this. Clearly didnt want to end his reign on a high of promotion. I still cant belive we put in a performance like that when all weve heard from the Players all week is how they are desperate to get into League One. They certainly didnt play like one.

If we played today like we did aagainst Shrewsbury at home we would have tore Stevenage apart today

I think its obvious Buckle will leave. If he wanted to stay he would at least say he hopes to get a contract sorted etc in post match interview.
However, losing on purpose? i don't think that was the case we just played utter shite and deserved what we got. I just hope Buckle either leaves today or says hes staying before our squad is ripped apart. We need to start planning for next season ASAP or we are in for a right dogfight to avoid the death zone that would send us to the utter shite known as the BSP.

Whatever you think of Buckle, he wouldn't have wanted to lose - not necessarily for the club, but for himself. Promotion from L2 on his CV is better than not and ultimately Westley's CV will look a lot better than Buckle's tonight - as Stevenage don't have any more resources than us - he certainly won't like this.
Today was a bad advert for Buckle, he will know this and for an ambitious manager this isn't good.

Bad advert for Buckle & a bad advert for League Two. God know's what Crawley, Plymouth & Swindon think knowing that Torquay & Stevenage got to the playoff final, christ.
It's a bit drastic to suggest Buckle wanted to lose but the subs were as bizarre as they come. The Oastler for Lathrope was laughable aswell as LRT for Nicholson.
With Reid & Charles going down on the floor I thought this is the start of the notorious Stevenage time-wasting but to be honest, I didn't see much more as they didn't really have to - that's how bad we were in the last 15.

I agree that Buckle would have wanted to win.
The result means he has put himself down a few notches on the "wish list" in the lower leagues following such an inept performance. Whilst I appreciate what he has done for the club I think it is time he moves on now as it will be one hell of a difficult position for him to be in should he stay and things not be quite so good next year, far more difficult than even going to Bristol Rovers had Torquay gone up, or going to them now.
There is quite a bit of talent in the lower leagues. I would have thought the following managers as a minimum had more appeal to struggling clubs
- Hill (Rochdale)
- Tissdale (Exeter)
- Still (Dagenham)
- Sheridan (Chesterfield)
- Colman (Accrington)
- Westley (Stevenage)
even the likes of Simpson (Macclesfield) and Slade (Orient) are starting to gain respect for building young teams with talent. (Macclesfield could surprise people next year in my opinion)
Buckle will be in for one hell of a hard time should he finally move to Rovers this weekend. They are an underperforming club with a regular 8,000 fanage when they are doing well. High expectations from some of the roughest and toughest parts of Bristol will certain test his bottle.
I would liken it to Boris Johnson becoming MP for Devonport!

How can everyone say that's the result he wanted, what a load of rubbish.I still think he is going to stay because i think i knows he's got a bigger job in him than Bristol Rovers.

Yeah, he clearly wanted us to lose, believable..
He played for the club for over 100 games, and he's turned it around since he's come here, I don't believe he'd want us to lose, he'd want the best for the club.

dont know about the result he wanted, but hes in a no lose situation.
win, and as others have said it looks great on his CV.
lose, and hes going to be praised for getting us there. and of course he can still f off to brizzie - or he could stay....
