The boards view on the next manager

WMN this morning.

The board want an experienced manager with a player coach if affordable.

No board meeting till week today. They expect to have shortlist of 'strong' candidates by then.

Rules out Hargreaves then. Sounds like Trollope or outside chance of Rioch and Player coach of Branston with an outside chance of Russell?

Also why no board meeting until a week today? Who is offering the loan/out of contact players terms??? I hope we are not going to lose out by being re-active again - instead of pro-active.

The clock is ticking... why do we always seem to be caught off guard in these situations?
Pure speculation of course and perhaps the matter is already in hand. Wishful thinking.
They could always appoint Leroy this afternoon? He's good at short term appointments... just to fill the void you understand.

Surely its arranged for next week so people actually have time to apply for the job?

I don't see why that doesn't mean something like Trollope manager with Hargreaves first team coach. That would be ideal.

Hargreaves playing days are behind him and the board mention a player coach.

Player coach = Branners hopefully. Experienced manager = Rioch ?

Trolls would probably want too much cash...The "if affordable" is a bit of a pointer....

Let's assume The Pickler has moved on... who from the current retained list could fill the role of Player/Coach?
Mansell? Nico? Or someone knew!

We've got at least a week of speculation. It's good to hear that applications are coming in from all over the place, we're more attractive than most of us believe!

Yeah, i've got no problem with it taking a week as long as the board make the right decision, and when the manager comes in he's got some targets he can sign as soon as possible.

The best decision isn't always the quickest decision

Im glad they are taking there time on this as it is very important for us to get the right person. Regarding the players, we could loose out on a few players and maybe loose branno? (i hope not) but who says the new manager would want all the players we had this season anyways.

A new manager would have their own targets and they could be better then players we had this season.

Im for one hopes to see the likes of branston get a new contrat and stanley getting something too. But they were buckle players, may not be for someone else even though they were brilliant this season.

Fingers crossed it all works out.
