Young Gulls defender Thomas loaned to Tiverton Torquay United’s Calum Thomas has joined Southern League Premier side Tiverton Town on loan, with the centre-back set to figure in Tivvy’s trip to Swindon Supermarine on Saturday. Having turned professional last summer, former United youth-team captain Calum has gone on to make six appearances for The Gulls’ first-team, however Interim Manager Aaron Downes now feels the time is right for Thomas to benefit from regular senior football in Mid Devon. “We’ve had a bit of interest in Calum all season with people wanting to take him on loan,” said Downes. “We’ve kept him within our squad because we wanted to get coaching into him, and also he has been part of our squad, but we feel the time is right now for Calum to put all that work into action. “We thank Tiverton for wanting to take Calum, and we feel he is ready for the step up into regular first-team football.” The post Calum Heads To Tivvy On Loan first appeared on Torquay United.
