How pathetic is our website at the minute. No one knows what the hell is going with the manager situation. Its the only voice which allows people within the club to communicate with the fans of this club and it is not being used properly in my opinion. I know there is alot going on behind the scenes at Torquay at the minute but for goodness sakes we need to be kept informed accurately, instead of hearing inaccurate rumors that are being spread willy nilly.

I mean the latest headline currently is 'FUTURE GULLS ON THE ALLEY',Skittles Event. I don't mean to sound rude but who the hell cares!

I agree.

We've been getting some good and regular updates on there recently so I've been heading there for news of the next manager and not a dicky bird. So getting worried I finally went to the Herald Express site and found lots of info and quotes from Simon and Bill. I totally agree with Simon B - I'd much rather get the right manager in a few days rather the wrong one today but why isn't this info on the Club website to keep us all up to date?

Feel a bit better now than I have recently after reading Dave THomas's reports.

I do think Torquay United could benefit enormously if they embraced the digital age a little better than they currently do. Their failure to do so is being highlighted quite blatantly at the moment with the lack of information coming from our club. It seems that Bristolrovers.co.uk is the place to go if you want any information about Torquay at the moment.

Better information leads to less frustration, more engagement and as a consequence a healthier relationship between club and fans. Of course the Board know this already but could we do with a couple tech/design people at the club?

Does Torquay have an Information Officer? Do we need one? It could be a voluntary position and could possibly be done remotely. A bigger, bolder presence on social media sites and maybe a re-branding exercise might help increase attendances and engage the younger generation to come to Plainmoor.

Just some ideas.

Totally agree with this, as I've alluded to in another thread. Rovers are announcing they've signed our keeper, we're announcing we knew nothing about it. Makes us look very professional.

At the moment we can speculate that nothing's being done and the worst is going to happen, just the occassional update to keep us informed on actual facts could massively relieve the uncertainty that's fuelling this board's negativity.

i just hope our current players are somehow in the loop of what is going on. if not, it's them i really feel sorry for.

as fans, we'd all love to know what's going on, but as employees, it must feel pretty grim for those guys right now.

Brady, if they didn't know already you can bet they do now.

I think I need a break from posting on here, I can't ever remember being so pi**ed off.

I see there is still no info on the official site now, Bevan and stanley have both signed contracts with rovers and been introduced to the press and is even a picture of them both with rovers scalves on their website!!!

Apologies everyone but this is another negative post i'm afraid. Agree with all the posts about the website, it is a complete waste of time. I've thought this for ages and i only visit to see info on tickets should need be. There is nothing of any value info wise on there to keep me going back. What a sad waste of a vital outlet from the club. It may as well be shut down and we can get all our info from the herald. I would love to ber able to say yeah the website is amazing, full of interesting things and it should win an award but i'm nowhere near. There should be a new Channel 5 documentary called, THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE CLUB WEBSITE INSPECTOR where some IT expert gets together with someone at their club who actually gives a **** about the fans and revamp their websites and make the fans feel loved again!! The viewing figures will be low sure but better than Casualty!!! I can't believe thats still on man!! Saturday night, peak time, settle down with a beer and watch a drama about people dying or having limbs removed in random accidents!!! Unbelievable! Anyway , back to the point, the website is shocking and whoever is responsible for its updating should walk. Who are the 0.1 percent of people who actually CARE about a skittles tournament when 99.9% of other fans want to be kept in the loop about serious issues going on at the club. Like the haemorraging of players and a new manager. Please just keep us all updated as to what is happening , it is common sense.

To be fair, the new guy has improved the site no end since he started in December. Confused about the silence now though, although maybe we'll unveil a new manager and some signings tomorrow morning...

As an exile, I agree the site has the inordinate distinction of blowing and sucking at the same time. :Z

The webmaster has probably moved to Bristol Rovers as well!

We should all take a leaf out of MLW's book & just stop moaning apparently. The board are fantastic & who the hell do we think we all are daring to complain, let's all remain positive. I mean Buckle agreed to become Bristol Rovers manager before are season & we didn't even start looking for a new gaffa then. Let's all throw a party.

I have obviously put a few peoples backs up (to put it mildly) with yesterdays thread. As much as I think the board are well intentioned and deserve support, the lack of information from Plainmoor and on the website in recent days is pitiful. There does seem to be a terrible lack of professionalism where communication is concerned and it is something that threatens to sour relations with even hardcore fans. Obviously they can't to into great detail about what is going on, but an update every couple of days should be within even our clubs capabilities.
I better stop or this will turn into one of those negative posts i'm always moaning about.
