United are on the road again for Tuesday night’s 7:45pm KO against Bath City at Twerton Park. Disappointment with the result on Saturday against Farnborough has given away to optimism and a way to put things right against the Romans in the second of an away double header.
Paul Wotton On Farnborough Defeat & Bath City Away “We trained this morning and there was a little bit of disappointment around the group, but there’s no need to be, “I watched the game back and we know what we did wrong first half and we know what we did right second half. We’re learning all the time and we’ve had a little chat with them and getting them focused for Tuesday night. Overall they’re in decent spirits.” Bath gained their first win of the season on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Welling United. Wotton is prepared for a tough 90 minutes. “They’ve got good players. Scott Wilson and Ewan Clark are two very good attacking players. They’ll be well organised and they’ll have a good structure to them. “Bath are always in and around the play-offs so we know we’re in for a tough game.” United received a great reception from the travelling Yellow Army which travelled in numbers on Saturday and Wotton is hopeful for more of the same on Tuesday night. “They were magnificent. There was great support behind the goal but also behind the dugouts as well. The club feels very very together which is a fantastic feeling Hopefully they’ll travel in good numbers again tomorrow night because we really do appreciate it.”
Player To Watch 
United will be wary of forward Scott Wilson who has scored goals for a myriad of clubs up and down the country. Wilson counts Macclesfield Town, Oldham, and Notts County among his previous clubs. He has hit good form for the Romans since returning to the club in 2022. Wilson opened his account for the season in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Welling United on Saturday.
