United return to Homers Heath on September 24th Torquay United have been drawn to face Buckland Athletic in the 1st Round of the 2024/25 Bayside Graphics Devon St. Luke’s Bowl, with the match taking place at Athletic’s VX3 Stadium on Tuesday 24th September (7.30pm KO). The match represents a swift return to Newton Abbot for Paul Wotton’s men, with the two sides contesting a 0-0 draw in Torquay’s opening pre-season friendly back in July. If United are to win the competition for the first time since 2006/07, they will have to first overcome a Buckland side that has started the season in impressive form, with five wins from their opening six outings seeing Dan Hart’s side occupy 4th place in the early Western League table. About The Bowl The St. Luke’s Cup – also known as the Devon Bowl – is the county’s premier knock-out competition, with the final scheduled to take place at Devon FA Headquarters at Coach Road, Newton Abbot on Friday 2nd May, 2025.
