Maybe the start of a busy week at Plainmoor?

Well, that settles that mystery then. Ain't no way he's going anywhere other than retirement or Plainmoor, and I REALLY can't see him retiring.

Happy days are here again.

Matt.

Not getting my hopes up here until it's done and dusted. Could still do a job at L2 so wouldn't surprise me to see some other teams interested. Hoping he returns here though.

I juts commented about Russell on other thread before I saw this. I had been thinking that it had all gone quiet and perhaps he was not coming but hopefully this is good news!!!

Is there a fans forum link for Yeovil? The one via ciderspace seems to be a dead link.

Would love to see Russell back at the club, one of my all time favourite Torquay players. Could still do a decent job in this league, though see him more as a bit part player, possibly off the bench to change/control a game rather than a starter if he does come back. Sort of how Man Utd used Scholes last season. This could potentially be a very busy week transfer wise, with Oastler signing back, the supposed GK, RB and CB plus rumours of Easton as well. Lets hope it shows to be true and not just speculation, and put some fans (not myself i must add) at ease with finally having some players in.

I'd happily have Russell come back in whatever position we could find for him - he was tremendous for us and to see back at Plainmoor (well, I probably won't see him directly, but you know what I mean) would really be a boost, even if he was just putting the cones out at training.

Yep, looks certain he is coming our way. I hope he does a good job at the club!

Been speaking to him on Facebook, he said last night: sorry mate I won't be back in yellow this season! Not my choice! Was looking forward to coming back but the club had other thoughts!

Have to say (although obviuosly nothings confirmed yet) I'm not suprised or that dissapointed Aggy isn't comming our way next year. It's going to be a very difficult year or couple of years at TQ1 and to put him in that position whilst still learning his coaching trade would have been a big ask in my book. The club would have made some sort of noises if they were that interested in the idea also. He's also going to be too expensive for the board, at this time, which is probably the one that tipped the scales.

I'd rather remember the Aggy of old.

Another message this morning: He just said he can't offer me anything! He blamed it on the board. But I know it was the board who really wanted me back!

Fair enough, sounds like Ling wants his own men, not the board's. Can't blame him for that.
Like others have said, I'd rather remember the good, fit Aggy from the first time around, not as an old geezer playing the odd match here and there.

wouldn't surprise me to see him back in a management role sometime in the future, but i think it was always a romantic notion to see him back at the club, and probably not the right time for him or the club when you look at it properly. he'll always be welcome at plainmoor, whenever that may be.
