Herald Express

Have to say I really missed the Herald Express this morning-particularly the back pages and Dave Thomas' Gulls coverage/analysis of match etc.
Today would have been quite "newsy" as regards TUFC-the offer to Atieno, the possible signing of Morris, the Rice signing, and lead up to Wednesday's match.
Did pick-up a copy of the WMN to see what their coverage was like but only small report on our match with much more space devoted to Argyle and City.
(Argyle are moving to sign Luke Daley apparently.City drew with Follese FC in Norway,1-1 and had two journalists covering their match which takes up three quarters of a page compared to our quarter!)

It remains to be seen what sort of format will be used for reporting on the Gulls' in the weekly edition-doubt it will even cover Wednesday night's match, this week.
Think the loss of daily coverage will be really felt as the new season starts and progresses-unless the vacuum is filled in some other way( probably emphasises the growing importance of this Forum to fill the gap!)

Sorry to hear this. Always sad to hear of local daily papers ceasing like this. Sign of the times unfortunately and even though you still have it in a weekly version it simply isn't the same.

New weekly paper has four pages of Gulls news, including a page for Martin Ling to air his views and a behind the scenes column-featuring Bill Phillips this week called
"Behind The Goal"-which sounds familiar!

Gulls in brief by Dave Thomas says that the match with WSM on Monday is off as " most of the Gulls' players will head for a team -bonding and surfing weekend in Newquay"-will need robust boards for Billy and Rene!

Not surprisingly given the new format no coverage of last nights match.

strange one. I assumed Ling's column would be more Torquay orientated, not sure he mentions the Gulls once in his column. Chance missed by the Herald imo. WMN for the win!

Hello sadlad, good to know you still view the forum. :-D

Congratulations on Walsall completing their "great escape".

As for the Herald Express, it's true, it's not the same, it now costs £1. :O :@

Total waste of money I.M.O. Huge property section as in the old friday addition, motoring section is cr#p, don't think that there will ever be a report on the Exeter game because next thursday it will be history, just endless pages of advertising, page after page after page........yawn. :@ :@ :@ :@
