Buckle at Rovers

Just wondering what sort of reaction Buckle will get at Rovers. I know we've discussed this before but I honestly feel the best thing would be to not react at all to him. Better still send a clear message that we were hacked off not at him leaving but the way he did it. I think he'd thrive on abuse so,

My suggestion,

As you probably know at the mem they have to walk across the pitch to the dug outs. As he does so, before KO, the whole away support turn 180 degrees and turn their backs on the guy in silence. Pretty sure that would get shown on the football league show.

Of course these are my feelings, others may wish to show their appreciation.

Thoughts?

Great points Dave and i agree that ignorance will annoy Buckle more and as for the back turning, it is still a dig at Buckle so he may take some gratification from it. I somehow feel though that many of us travelling to the mem will just not be able to resist having a go on the day.

or do that things that the kop at elland road used to do so well, applaud the goalie like mad until he responds and then a massed F*** OFF!

There is no point shouting abuse at him, he'll enjoy it too much. The only way it would work is if we got really personal, start delving into his dirty past. If his wife is there, not even the poison dwarf himself could feel smug about that.

 He'll try to f*ck your mother,
He'll try to f*ck your wife,
He'll try to spread his seed around but just don't tell his wife.
He learnt his stroke from Giggsy,
He taught him all he knew
He says that he's ambitious,
So why... did... he... choose... you!

Thing is everyones going to react differantly. He'll definatley get abuse because thats what some will choose to do. Others will as said on here ignore him and hope it gets to him,

I think the abuse will get to him because he'll be expecting us to cheer and applaud him for all he achieved down here. But as others have said his ego will go up abit either way really.

Whatever the manner of Paul Buckle's departure from Torquay, all this anti-Buckle bile leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. Such resentful, spiteful venom is unworthy of anyone claiming to be a Torquay United supporter. Any form of anger or vindictive malicious ill-will such as this is simply wasted energy. The best way to express our feelings will be to maintain some dignity and put all our energies into supporting the team on Saturday to beat Bristol Rovers.

will be interesting to see what buckle has to say this week in the build up to the game. he'll obviously be nice about TUFC, and i bet he says how wonderful the yellow army are. i'll go with the majority, i'd really like to let buckle know in some way how we feel about the way he treated our club, but i think ANYTHING we do, he will see that we're doing it because of him. if we ignore him, he'll have got a reaction, if we cheer martin ling's name for 90mins, buckle will think we've done it because of him, if we boo him and shout abuse, he'll have got a reaction etc etc.

i really despise the guy, but i'm a TUFC supporter, and that's exactly what i'll be on saturday.

End of the day we should support our team like we do week in week out.
If we shout abuse at him, i feel deep down he would hate it. The guys walked off thinking hes done the max our club could achieve and they way he treated us, he deserves whats coming.

(Edit - I mean whats coming as in a few songs aimed at him ect, no figting or breaking seats please guys  )

Seriously, some people need to get a grip. Be good if we can take loads and loads of fans, cheer on our team and hopefully show Bristol what class is, on and off the pitch. Be really sad if there's trouble on the day because of a few knuckleheads who have no sense of perspective.

I think it's up to each fan decide how they want to react to Buckle, our team is not going to want to hear endless chants for f-off Buckle, or Judas are they ? Players thrive on positve support during the game we should nothing but support our team, if at the end of the game however fan's decide to vent there feelings at Buckle so be it.

Dont think we should make mountain's out of mole hills here, they know we are going chuck pelters at Buckle, some thing the gasheads are not worried about , and they are on about winding us up with banners and Buckle face masks anyway, all part of being a football fan and if anyone takes it to heart more fool them.

Agreed, there's bound to be banter and songs, etc.. But let's not drag ourselves down below a certain level. That would not be a good advertisement for Torquay supporters, nor for the club.
