says he's happy at Torquay and wouldn't mind staying if no deal is done by tonight.

Sounds like good news, but i'll wait for 5pm before celebrating.

In the Daily Star today it said Plymouth were leading the race for Benyon.

Interesting to read of Reading's interest in the Torquay trio, perhaps we could possibly see one of the three signing for the Royals then getting loaned back out to us for the remainder of the season?

argyle have just let rory fallon go to ipswich so they have room for a forward but no point in going down there with them likely to be relegated and us up in the playoffs

Argyle are soon to announce that Ridsdale is on the Board, somehow I think he'll be looking at getting them Ferdinand and Rooney, not our Elliot :)

Atleast in this point of time we aren't as unlucky as Bournemouth, who earlier this season lost Brett Pittman to Bristol City & now have had their brilliant young striker Josh McQuoid poached off them by Millwall.

Two 20+ goals a season strikers lost in one campaign....atleast we still have our squad intact bar any last minute deals.

Forgive me for being thick but if Benners is happy here and wants to stay, why in the name of all that is good and holy are we not sitting him down right now, shoving a contract under his nose and getting him to sign it?

Or am I missing the point??

Im with you Scott. Offer him a 2 year contract with a ($250.000 I don't have a pound symbol on my yankee computer) get out clause and make the highest paid player in the team.

I guess we'll know something for sure within the next hour.

I hope he stays.

He says he's in no rush to leave, which probably means if he doesn't leave now or in January he'll be off in the summer when his contract expires.

Offer the boy a bigger wedge - then he'll be really happy, we'll get 20 + goals and sell him end of season for a larger sum of £Â£Ã‚£.
By which time BK will have found his scoring boots and lost a half stone...

Just do it, we must have some money from Charnock moving off?

btw - alt 0163 gives the pound symbol for any of us not on UK Keyboards!
