NickGull - Always does his homework, good at preparing reports ahead of matches, English. The FA would be mad to consider anyone else.

I don't think any true football manager in his right mind would take on the England job at this time, unless the egotistical idiots who run the FA do the right thing, follow Capello's example and resign.

In theory anyone with half a brain wouldn't touch the job. Not because of the muppets at the FA, but because the England players are IMHO the most overrated bunch of tosspots ever to kick a ball. At club level you aren't restricted to what nationality player you pick.
It's common knowledge that your average footy fan can, like his heroes, barely string a sentence together (and before you all jump on me it's mostly present company accepted), and every time we qualify for a tournament we are told by the idiotic media that we will or should be winning it, and the average thicko fan falls for it. Well history shows that the morons in the media don't know anything about football on the bigger stage where we religiously fail at the quarter final stage.
Here's the twist. Redknapp is the clear favourite, and he has just got off a fraud charge with a self proclamation that he's not the sharpest knife in the box, so if he takes the job that sort of bares out this claim.
If he thinks it through logically and decides agains't it as he's everything to lose and very little to gain (if anything) then he's just got away with defrauding HMRC out of £1000s on false pretences. :rules:
(That I think, is a sensible, thought out opinion? Don't panic, I'm on antibiotics and off the drink, normal utter cobblers will be resumed on Friday! :~D )

'Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with their experience!
Think regradless of how the F.A are or how they act, there will be no shortage of managers wanting the England job, I think the obvious think to do, is make Staurt Pearce caretaker manager for the Holland match and then appoint at the season end.
Does not bother me if the next lamb to the slaughter is English or not as long as can push us forward.

If Hiddink wants the job then give it to him, either permanently or just for the tournament. A top class manager and has a good international record.
Redknapp is the only English manager with even a viable shout for the job, and I don't think he'd take it now.

My choice would be Stuart pearce assistant with harry as manager. Pearce has experience with under-21s and can help bring them into squad and maybe not feel so odd. I think its vital he is involved as the next few years for England are key
