Lowest possible finish

Post by clemy1989 »

This thread title looks a tad negative but i want a positive spin on it. Basically looking at the league right now the lowest we can finish is 17th and i am hoping that after each game we will see that place climb therefore hopefully we can count down to clinching a playoff spot then auto then who knows the title. This has been a fantastic season and hopefully it can continue.

If you'd have said at the start of the season we'd finish 17th I think a lot of people (including me!) would have taken that as an acceptable place to end up!! Especially seeing as this year was all about rebuilding/gelling a squad after Buckle had raped us at the end of last season!!

Onwards and upwards though, play-offs would be immense, auto's would be like living on cloud 9 - both would be beyond our wildest expectations!!

To be fair the website doesn't take into account that teams are playing each other.

I would guess we can't finish lower than Accrington in 13th now

Hahahah Barnets highest finish possible is 3rd while Plumuff could finish 6th. In their dreams.

and Rovers could finish as Champions. You would need an imagintation of the wildest proprtions to even think of it.

When we finished 3rd under Leroy in 2004, we had 81pts. Since then , that has generally been enough other than a couple of seasons - Hereford went up in 3rd place in 2008 with 88pts yet Exeter finished runners-up a year later with only 79ts. On that basis, another 12pts might be enough.

Aim for 86. That will be enough.

Was 20 points from our last 10 games, they say 2pts a game gets you promotion over a season that would make 86.

So now its 9=17 :)

Think your maths maybe a little dodgy...2pts a game over the season would be 92 points... :slap:

What Ian meant was 69 points (current total) plus 17 points from 9 remaining games = 86 points.

Attain that total and up for sure we'll be.
