Post-Match Players' Reactions

Don't know if anyone else has seen this, but just noticed BeChampionsTV have uploaded a video of interviews with Benyon, Downes, Manse and Nico: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-45IMfYCUs

Decent YouTube channel, have also uploaded highlights of the Devon Bowl final and some of our other Devon Bowl games.

Thanks for the upload. Interesting interviews and comments. Hope the lads have a good summer break now.

Was in Gulls Nest after match and players were meant to meet with their sponsors,to thank them and make a presentation of signed shirt. Most of those who had played in match did so,but quite a few of the rest of the squad didn't-therefore showing a total lack of respect to our most loyal supporters who support the club(and the players) financially.
Dean Edwards was fuming and made his dissatisfaction known.Perhaps some already know they are on the way out, given their arrogant attitude on this occasion, good riddance.

Could you list some of the players who didn't show up?!

Not 100% sure as presentations were done quite quickly and it was not that easy to see from where I was standing but almost certainly none of the following were there-Leadbetter,Macklin,Thompson,Stevens,Craig- not sure about Cruise-don't remember his name being called-out.

So is Craig but both were on the bench so if they did not attend that is very poor.

If true Leadbitter, Macklin Stevens and Cruise have done their negotiation talks (if there are any that is) a great deal of harm.

We have to remember, the players will have their own ambitions. It might well be that some of these, wouldn't want to stay even if offered the chance. Someone like Leadbitter for example. He is a looooong way from friends and family by being at Torquay. Is it really worth it, when he's playing support act to Joe Oastler? If I was him, i'd be looking closer to home too.

Disappointing and unacceptable if true. To be honest, I'm not surprised by Macklin and Thompson (and to an extent Leadbitter) not turning up, but expected better from Craig and Cruise - and especially Stevens, having been here so long. Surely it's not too much to ask for them to stick around for an hour or so to thank fans for a season's worth of support?

Fonda, good points about Leadbitter. I can see why he'd be annoyed - his opportunities have been very limited (14 league games in 2 years) and even when he deputised for Oastler and did well, he was still dropped again pretty quickly. Noticed that when asked by a Torquay fan on Twitter whether he'd be here next year, Leadbitter said he had "no idea". Might have to drop to Conference level for a starting place elsewhere though?

Yep, reckon you're right. But I doubt the money would be significantly different, he could probably find a club much closer to home and actually play regular football. Very much doubt he'd be too despondent if dispensed with. And I doubt he's alone. I think the young lads from big cities really need to be playing regularly to enjoy Torquay. There isn't much else for them here.
