Bix can insist all he likes! I can't link to a newspaper sitting on my lap. I am on a train with an iPhone and less than perfect reception to search for links! I just thought this was a piece of good news, that is all. I now fully expect to be criticised by Brucie/Wivelgull for posting rumours about signing a player that he doesn't rate anyway.
Just for clarity, I am on an early, early train to London, bought the Herald and tried to share what I thought was good news!!

Nothing on ThisisSouthDevon or Herald Express websites at present.
TUST number 080
Thanks gullintwoplaces, we were told that the Herald would be linking us with two names and thanks for letting us know them as soon as you found it.
Much appreciated.
Don't know too much about young Ball, but Karl Hawley's name has been mentioned, for obvious reasons given that Knill was the last person to sign him, and although he has had an up and down career, hitting the highs at Carlisle all those years ago, he certainly struggled while in the Championship with Preston and never quite hit the highs with Notts County either BUT he did have a successful season in League 1 last time out and 11 goals in that League for a struggling side (Scunny)that ultimately got relegated should surely equate to 15-20 in League 2 in a (hopefully) successful side, provided he maintains form and stays free of injury.
Much appreciated.

Hawley scored 11 goals in league one in a struggling side. Surely we will create more chances in league two than Scunny did in league one. The standard of opposition is worse he could get 15+ goals quite easily I would imagine.
Just youtubed Callum Ball, scored a cracking goal against west ham, also scored against Arsenal. He is a big power house. This would be a fantastic coup for us to have these players.
I've been saying patience is a virtue for the past few weeks but even I was getting slightly nervous.

Hawley's goals (and assists) from last season, courtesy of YouTube ...
Hawley is 5' 8 so looking like our two main strikers will not be in the Howe mould. Hawley is a typical journeyman striker and probably about the best we could have expected.
Worryingly Callum Ball is also a part time model apparently!
Don't know anything about him - apparently Crewe tried to sign him on loan last year. Did not play too many games for Coventry.

There is no way Hawley is 5ft 8 watch the clip above he looks probably 6ft. He scored more tap ins and headers than anything else which is something's we need.
The Howe figure is Callum Ball who at 6ft 3 seems a bigger powerhouse than Howe.
End of the day we are torquay united and these for us are excellent signings.
