Our mascot at Wimbledon was Ollie Lovis. He's two & a half & needs specialist treatment in America. The NHS will fund most of it but his family need assistance with ancillary costs. His grandfather, father & other family members are longstanding Torquay supporters. Ollie's in hospital at the moment, but they let him out for the game. He was great ! Please help if you can. Thanks

I travelled to the game with his grandad (who I hadn't met before ) & I was very touched by the story...every parents' worst nightmare.Ollie's a fighter so I felt I should support the appeal. Thanks to all those who've contributed in these harsh financial times. Not sure about the bucket collection Vinny, think they have to be arranged some time in advance. Someone else on here will probably know ....

A good suggestion Vinny but I'm fairly sure that the beneficiaries of Half Time collections have to be registered charities ...... but wouldn't swear to it. Ollie's family may have registered as a charity of course.

Really sad but sympathy isn't going to get the little bairn anywhere, money might. I'll donate and suggest others do the same. Hope everything works out.

Hi Guys.
I bid for two of the shirts on OS last night before the deadline. But having logged on this morning I find that all mention of the auction and any links have been removed. I have even tried the link above.
Anyone have any idea why or what has happened or what is going on?
I would like to know if I have topped the bids for the shirts I wanted.

reckon your best bet Gloster is either to ring the club to speak to Andrew Candy, or pm him...he isn't on line on here at the moment. All but one were his shirts, so he ought to know ! Good luck ! The appeal for funds for Ollie is going well , by the way; haven't seen an update about his treatment though.

Another update : I saw Ollie's Grandad on Saturday & apparently the treatment's been going well in the States. The family return to the UK soon, & if Ollie's well enough, we may see him as one of the mascots at Plainmoor before the end of the season. Nice to have some good news, isn't it ?

Yes indeed Taxilady. I hope the little fella gets well enough to do that and good news that his treatment is effective at the minute.
