Watching the weather forecast (I know, I might as well watch the fish tank, for all the accuracy) and if the radar is to be believed, our area is to suffer almost endless rain between now and then. Despite the obvious talent of the ground staff and the money the club have allowed to be spent by them, surely we can't cope with so much water from the skies?*

Matt.

*This is a rhetorical question, I'm just using this thread to keep people updated, but feel free to chip in.

Well, if it's off it can only be good for us as it will mean that Lee won't potentially have to miss a game.

Rob and Stef will be pleased ;-)

Reading through the ground staffs conversations on twitter shows that they arent all that confident that the game will be on. I had hoped to go to this one, being Hargreaves first home game in charge :(

Not too bad at moment-if it remains dry for most of today, tonight and tomorrow will hopefully dry -out sufficiently for game to go ahead.
Too much more heavy rain between now and tomorrow evening, will put the match in doubt, for sure.

In all honesty there is no way whatsoever that the game being off will be an advantage for you in the position you are in UNLESS a lot of other games are off tomorrow night as well. I can tell you this from the recent experiences where we have had games cancelled and then have to watch other teams overtake us and put increasing pressure on the team. In your position you need to play and WIN games as games in hand are not a guaranteed advantage as we found out in 2000 when we had so many games to catch up and lost a lot because the players were under so much pressure to win them and we ended up relegated. Better to play them now and hopefully get three points. The quicker you are out of the bottom two the better and a lot of the pressure on the players will go with not being in that position in the League.

yeah, we had a lot of games in hand only last season friendlygas, & it was no advantage whatsoever ! We lose crowd numbers as well on a cold winters' Tuesday night & some STHs don't bother travelling from further afield (& we miss Brucie & Wivelgull when they're not here......... ;-) )

Morning All,
Despite the heavy rain overnight the Groundsman remains confident that the game will be on tonight. Clearly if the forecast changes and we get heavy rain as opposed to the light showers that are predicted then the situation could change again. We will endeavor to provide updates if the circumstances change.
Regards,
Andrew

It is sunny on Torquay harbourside at the moment and has been dry save for a very light 5 minute shower at 9. Forecast is ok with sunshine and showers which hopefully will miss us anyway looking at the radar. With the groundstaff being able to work on the pitch all day you would think that the game will be ok. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for that info - just goes to show how different the weather is locally - eighty miles away the weather has been atrocious - been raining hard practically non stop since 6 am!

No problem. BBC Forecast has just been updated and now shows as being pretty clear until 4 with potential showers after so I would say we have a game on our hands tonight!

There's only one way of improving upon a local BBC forecast: look out of the window.. :)

No. Actually, there are a million ways.. :-/
