Saturday will be my first (and possibly last trip for a long time) to Roots Hall. Have to say i am struggling to find reasons to go other than its a fairly local game and I have to support my team, no matter how sh*t we have been.

Still, maybe some pre-match drinks before the game will help ease the pain of watching tufc ( probably) lose again. The Hartlepool game comes to my mind.

Anyone going? Where's the best place for a pre match drink? Who knows, we might win!!!!

Yes, we might ! You never know with Torquay, do you ? I'll be there...bought my ticket before the Newport game ( I might have had second thoughts afterwards !). I drove up last year, but I'll be on the Supporters' Coach (tandem ?) this time. See you there tk !

I won't be going. If it was local then perhaps but this set of players are simply not worth the hassle and expense. Shame as I have never been to Southend and would have liked to have gone but I can't be arsed with it now. Hats off to anyone going to this who lives more than 50 miles away though.

Yes, in fact I can think why.... because it'll be the last away League 2 game I will see in my life time (I wish I was joking, but sadly, given our current situation it just ain't going to happen)... hopefully, if Junior lives long enough, he might get to see us scrape back to whence we came.

One saving grace is that the Conference has a fair splattering of south-eastern'ish based clubs which will make next season a little more bareable.

I've already given up on this season (like the majority of us die-hards).

Na, can't be arsed to get up at 7-30 am, on a Saturday, drag myself 250 miles, spend £60 on fuel plus £20 to get in, just to watch the inevitable, regulation, 1-0 loss.

As you might be able to tell, I've given up.

What a difference from the Southend away match 10 years ago when we had 2,000 very vocal gulls fans cheering on a team that we were very proud of, to see us get a 1-2 win which got us promoted, and after the match getting on the pitch to celebrate, thank you for the memories the team of 2004

Southend aren't my favorite team,they were the first side I saw at Torquay and we was robbed with a 3x3draw so dispute my mother coming from there I have never liked them.Having said all that I watched them mid week against Oxford and they are a good side,very quick and strong at the back so dispute our recent 1-0 losses I think this game could be quite a heavy defeat so I would suggest parking the bus and playing one nine one with the quickest player Torquay have up front and chasing everything with every one else parked in front of our goal,this formula I would repeat against Scunthorpe,rather a 0-0 than another hammering.let's stop trying to be a football team and just stop the other side playing.

That's an interesting way of approaching the game Frenchie and on another day and in another season I would tend to agree with you but I feel that if anything, we need to do the opposite and take some huge risks on Saturday if we are to stand any chance of getting a result. Wins are what matter now and playing for a draw or even to keep it tight and try and put pressure on last knockings hoping to nick a win aren't viable options at the minute. The latter scenario is unlikely given the lack of urgency Chris instils into his team.

I would hope the magnitude of this game will hit everyone in the camp because a loss here and we could be 7 or more points adrift with GD then more like 8 points adrift with 6 to play. We'd then have to pretty much win most of our remaining games to stay up. Lose on Saturday and there is just no coming back from it even with a minor miracle.

In many ways I just hope we get stuffed and the inevitable becomes more so if that were possible. At the moment we are like a wounded animal struggling by the roadside after being whacked by a car and the most humane thing would be a Southend victory to put an end to the suffering once and for all. A win at Southend would just see us clinging to the last remnants of life, writhing along in agony and pain until Scunny rock up and do the decent thing.

Nope. I went to York last night instead.

This is a long shot (almost a goal kick) but I have a free train ticket going down to London Euston for this game (departing from Preston at 6am) if anyone wants it. My mate was using it but he can't go anymore. Bought for £17 but if anyone wants it they can have it.

I'll be there - but it's only 20 miles for me.
I'll go to Bristol, Exeter & Mansfield too, but only if the team can manage a few wins and make a fight of staying up.

I said I wouldn't go anymore after the Hartlepool game then went v Newport and York!

If we beat Southend I will try and get to Brizzle but otherwise i'll sit it out until Mansfield away then that's me done.
