Hey all! If we do a Dagenham and throw in the towel early doors at home to Wycombe on Saturday then we can help Mr Knill get his deserved relegation should Northampton not get anything against Oxford on Saturday!

It's made for it!! Could you bring yourself to 'support' Wycombe for the day in such a scenario?

I will be hoping for a Wycombe win and a Cobblers loss........................but I'm not bitter. :Oops:

Mind you, Oxford gave up months ago and will probably lack the professional application that Daggers did yesterday.

Northampton will beat oxford
Bristol will beat Mansfield

Wycombe will be going down

Northampton will survive and Wycombe will be coming down with us, which gives me an away day to replace the Oxford one.

I hope Wycombe come down with us. Northampton and Bristol Rovers would likely have significant resources that makes a difference at conference level - with Luton going up, if we go down with Wycombe, there are unlikely to be any one club that has a significant advantage when it comes to resources.

That's how I see it.

To be honest, judging by recent results/performances you probably couldn't pick two more preferable opponents than Oxford and Mansfield at the present moment in time.

Northampton have had 'significant resources' for much of the season and are 1 game away from dropping out of the football league. Money isn't everything.

Anyway, we aren't pressuring CH to win the league anyway so it doesn't matter which clubs are down there with us. You could argue that a club like Telford who have just come up have more resources than us and so it's a misnomer. It doesn't matter who ends up starting the conference, the remit is the same - play some decent football and get us competitive. If we are worrying about teams like Northampton now just because they have a few quid then why are we bothering? We all start from scratch.

I want Cobblers to come down with us. They have been bottom all season and so deserve it regardless of the Knill 'factor'.

I think the least likely threat next season, would be Wycombe, out of the clubs who can come down, so I think I would like it to be them. Plus, at least there would be two sets of miserable fans next week and not just us!

As it stands, Wycombe are a supporters owned club who are currently up for sale it would appear. The investors who were thinking of buying them a few months back would appear to have got cold feet once they realised that they might well be buying a non league club and whilst there is talk of other bidders, I think their financial problems could see them struggling next season. Whilst the likes of Northampton and Bristol Rovers also seem to be carrying huge debts, they still seem to have owners prepared to continue to chuck more and more money at it and no doubt that would still be the case in the Conference.

Like I said, a couple of months back, next season in the Conference will represent far more of a level playing field for the likes of us as there aren't really any big hitters down there anymore and the closest to a Crawley/Fleetwood scenario is probably Forest Green Rovers ... and they haven't achieved anything of note this season despite having it would appear quite a bit of money chucked at them.

Hopefully we are going down on a relatively stable footing unlike some of the recently relegated League clubs ... although I imagine that will only remain the case so long as Thea Bristow remains supportive, which we were recently assured she was.

It's not the position throughout the season that counts; it's the position at the end of the season.
So if Northampton have accrued enough points at the final whistle of the final game to be above the bottom two, then they deserve to retain their league status.

Part of me completely agrees with this suggestion. My dislike of Northampton comes particularly from the fact that Knill deserves to be there in a relegated team and also from Ricky Ravenhill. I hope that Ravenhill is ditched by the Cobblers when they publish their retained list.

Above all though it is Dagenham that I have the most contempt for. Totally unprofessional yesterday, their players are shameful. I used to have some regard for this team, who are run on a shoestring, but now I hope they get relegated next season.

Whichever club is likely to provide the least threat to our promotion chances next season is the club we want down with us. I wouldn't like to see our friends at Bristol Rovers go down, though Wycombe too is a nice club. Northampton would provide our toughest opposition, so no, not them..

I'd rather win and go out on a high and finish 23rd.

It's never nice sending anyone down and I wouldn't grant it on any fan because it is devastating. Northampton aren't staying up because of Alan bloody Knill. They're staying up because they have a very good experienced manager who has done very well. This isn't having a go at Hargreaves, I'm just saying that Wilder has made a great impact. Okay, they do have better funds as well but that only emphasises the fact that the Cobblers' safety isn't because of the numpty which is Alan Knill.

Let's try and win the game on Saturday, go out on a high, have the most depressing atmosphere with the Wycombe fans and get ready for next season. The real hard work starts at 5pm on Saturday.

A final day win is really important for three reasons:
1. A 5th and final home win for home supporters
2. Not finishing last and most importantly
3. To go into next season as a 'form ' team with a winning mentality. Often losing teams continue losing and winning teams carry on being unbeaten in the new season.
