Sounds promising. As does the mention if experienced midfielders at the bottom of the article. Fingers crossed.

Yes for a team that apparently has no money we don't appear to be doing too badly. I don't know what to think about Cureton really. He is a goalscorer no doubt about it but he needs to be in a team that will suit his style of play. We don't have a target man so not really sure.
He is getting on - but there again the Conference is a poor league.
I think I would err on the side of getting someone younger possibly.

Doing a search for Bowman on Twitter, a lot of Conference fans are claiming links!Richinns wrote: I think by the end of the day we just might!

I think this would be a good signing. An experienced player is important in the Conference. Won't be long to think of a song for him if he is a United player this season .

Jamie has history at Bristol Rovers and I don't think they would take him or they could lose a director so we could be in with a chance. He would be a gamble but I think our manager needs someone who can guide young forwards and Jamie might fit in.

he would be a superb signing, he'll score 15 goals for sure in the conference

I don't think he's on trial I expect it's him seeing if he likes the club if he's fit and we could end up with a good striker partnership.shaunicus wrote:On trial at Dagenham tonight.

He can't be that keen to come here then. Don't blamehim. Anyone know where our friendlies are listed?
Although I'd be happy enough if he signed for us, I don't expect he's cheap and one day his Indian summer will come to an end - knowing our luck when he's with us.
I think I'd be more keen on a younger, cheaper player as cover for the forward line with a better investment in the midfield (Poku and Cregg sounding promising, for example)

It does seem to be a massive gamble. Sign a young striker and if it doesn't work there's always the chance that there will be improvement over time or that someone else will come and take him for a small amount of cash.
Sign a 38 year old on what I imagine will be a relatively high wage and unless he scores double figure goals or gets double figure assists it will be a massive failure with no other options. No one will buy him off us, there will be no improvement over time.
Jamie Cureton is a player I have admired for many years, and have always dreamed of him turning out for the Gulls but I'm not sure about it at this time in his career.
