What can we do in memory for Thea
Without doubt the fact Thea is going to make the club debt free upon her departure is nothing short of admiration and kindness. So what can we fans do as a parting gesture:
Set up a charity in her memory to which we can donate whenever we can
Ensure the Macclesfield match has every seat filled in the Bristow bench
Freedom of Torquay
A DVD of what they done for this club
The next Road to Hele dedicated to the bristows and all proceeds to go to charity/club
I am sure the club and TUST can work together on this. Can Andy candy get something going on the above. Please add to this.

I like the idea of filling the bench for the final game. We could possibly give tickets to local scouts/schools, as they both did so much in this area. It would be fitting for her final game, to see her tribute to Paul filled with the future of TUFC. As a club, our future is so much brighter because of her family, and it would be a nice symbolic way to show her that.
Yes we should do something.
Filling the Bench would be great.

Filling the bench and as much Yellow as possible would be great although I'm not sure how realistic this might be given our current form but if the message was put out in as many ways as possible I'm sure a great effort could be made.
The scouts thing is only another great idea but the free admission would presumably have to be authorised by Thea so she would in effect be leading her own tribute which probably doesn't seem quite right. I think it's a great opportunity for the other Directors to show their appreciation (whether they will is another matter) and perhaps tickets for the Bench could be reduced to £10 each for the final game in an effort to fill the bench with the other Directors funding the difference to the normal admission prices.
I also think that one thing that should be insisted upon (Kelvin please take note) is that there is a covenant in the transfer of ownership which ensures that the name of the main stand is never allowed to change from Bristows Bench as a lasting tribute to the family. I have seen this at other grounds where somebody funds a stand and it's named after them only to be changed at a later date.

Torquay fans can sing "There's only one Thea Bristow" at all the remaining games and bring a yellow daffodil which can be waved around. Imagine 2000 yellow flowers all being held up to Thea in thanks. It is a simple gesture and one that can be achieved.
I don't think we need to do anything. Being realistic she has presided over the club which has been turned into a total shambles - I mean its not as if we have got promotion or really have anything to celebrate. By her own admission she knew nothing about running a football club. Rather than doing so it might have been prudent of her to employ someone who was able to do so, then we might not be in the position that we are now ie having lost about half our fanbase amonst other things.
Filling the stand with boys scouts and waving yellow daffodils and the like is just plain daft. Please get a grip of yourself.
We need to thank her for her gesture but move on as quickly as possible. All we can do is hope and pray that we get someone in who can turn the fortunes of our club around, and support the team next season if this happens.

To Brucie:
You have described where we are right now. One of the lowest league positions in our history.
Without Thea and Paul, where WOULD we be now? Maybe still in the Conference having not achieved promotion last time round. No Wembley , no Old Trafford and play-off semis etc etc.
Their financial contribution to this club is legendary now. So any and every tribute is fully justified.
I can't believe you have scorned and abused the creative thinking of other dedicated fans on this page.

We do not need to anything regards Thea or the Bristow family. The Bristow's bench is and will always be a reminder of the work Paul Bristow started, and the work Thea continued to do after Paul's passing, whilst I agree only in part with Brucie's sentiment I do think something re; the scouting movement on the last game would be a good idea, as the scouting movement is something Paul and Thea held close to their hearts.

Torq2u - if you think that anything I have posted is abusive then go take a look at yourself. We don't actually know where we would have been without the Bristows as we have no idea who may have been in charge of the club. Just get a reality check instead of your constant fawning.
We have got a nice stand but the worst bloody football team we have ever had. Noone is doubting the Bristows financial comnittment at all but it still doesn't alter where we are at the moment - ie our worst ever league position as well as attendances slipping to a point where the viability of carrying on is called into question.
Has Thea Bristows time in charge been a success - no its been an unmitigated disaster.

Yes, there will always be Bristow's Bench, but hang on, THEY funded that. This is about US paying a tribute to THEM.The Bristow's bench is and will always be a reminder of the work Paul Bristow started, and the work Thea continued to do after Paul's passing,
And yes, involving the scouts for the very reason you state is a good idea IMHO.

Life is like TUFC. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory.

Cross linking to the thread 'now the club is debt free', I think all efforts made by fans for the remaining home games should be directed towards voicing our disgust at the other board members.
We need to exterminate the vermin and get a fresh start, not allow them to prey on Thea's generosity and acquire the club for free!
so swap you daffodils for "Phillips and Baker f*** off" banners and the like...

Just to like add, the scouts was not my idea, it was posted above, I just think that above anything else is a good idea. Personally do not like putting people down so apologies in advance, but things like waving daffodils in the air, no, just no.
I mean what next, shower Thea in rose petals as she brought into the ground on my little pony with 1,000 TUFC doing the celebration dance around the maypole. :na:

How about we get a banner/flag for Thea? Ask TUFC fans to put some money towards it and display it at the last game of the season and beyond.
Also think filling Bristow's Bench is a great idea.

How about 1 minutes applause, if enough people think this is good idea, my one fear is not enough would join, we'd need the clubs help to announce or maybe put it on the scoreboard at the relevant time, and we'd need to come up with appropriate number for the minute for this happen, something like say the 59th minute as Paul was 59 when he passed, however not sure that's something she'd want be reminded of, but along those lines.
