courtney richards
looks like courtney is back in training with the gulls!
Yep, seems likely he will stay meaning the central midfielders are complete.
We are desperate for another winger (only senior wide player we have on the books is Sparkes) and we will also need another striker (Harrad if the budget allows). That might be it be the looks of things although right back and GK have no cover. I am sure Nicho has a contingency should Verma or Moore get injured or suspended and some chances will have to be taken with the budget supplied. Quality of quantity has to be the best way to approach this (Gareth Law will be key this year!).
I see Vassell at Truro has been suggested - anyone have any further info on this or possible others which could be recruited for the right wing?

Unless Kev has plans to put Chaney out wide?

Would love to see a right winger brought in but to me it looks as if Kev will play quite a narrow system possibly a diamond.
Lathrope
Sparkes AN Other (possibly Chaney/Richards)
Young
This would be more suited to Chaney than as a winger. Conceivably he could also play Lathrope, Sparkes, Richards and Young in the same narrow midfield.
On another note - I heard that we were speaking to Josh Rees - is there any truth in this?

We have a really good left winger in Sparkes, and two excellent strikers, so need someone to play on the right to play a 4-4-2 and utilise all these players.
Richards would be a good squad player, but I can't see him being in our first choice XI with everyone fit, unless we are planning on playing a very narrow formation. Lathrope, Young, Richards and Chaney would all suit this, but then you're left with Sparkes as the only winger in the squad and England have already shown what happens when you go with one winger and then play a formation with wingers.
Priorities for me are a right winger, temporary right back, Harrad and then another central midfielder.
Nicholson described Andre Wright and Jason Rees as 'cheap' loan signings the other day, so it could work quite well to sign Richards and Harrad, who are unlikely to be first choice, and then bring in similarly funded loan players to be the first choice right side as presumably the loaning club would want them to play if they're paying most of the wages.

yes Ive heard also that Rees could be on his way back. And that vassell is training with us.
Courtney got a touch like an elephant hope he doesn't sign , don't rate him at all shame we don't AV a second team he could lay in there
That's great news, Roadrunner - and your info is usually spot on. I rate Josh Rees - good player. I don't know anything about Vassell 'cept he was a regular in Truro's team that reached the play offs and I think he scored a few goals for them.ROADRUNNER wrote:yes Ive heard also that Rees could be on his way back. Annoyed he's signed, don't get what people see in him. He can't pass, he's small, he's slow and gets dragged out of position far too easily. I hope he doesn't start, Lathrope is a far better option. Plus, Richards was waiting for other offers which never came so decided to stay.
Not good.

I thought Richards and Moore need to get fitter!NorfolkGull wrote:Annoyed he's signed, don't get what people see in him. remember where we were last season, hardly gonna attract top class players. Decent enough for me.

Going to go against the grain here, I rather pleased he's signed. The man has passion, something that's been in short supply at TUFC of late.
Glad to see you sign Courtney, really hope you have an excellent season.
