I'm going to go for a 1-1 score draw in this one. Bobby-Joe Taylor to score an early goal for the hosts, with 10 man Torquay equalising from the spot on 56 minutes.

I mean, no one else started the prediction thread did they? Was it about Torquay? Yes? What's the problem?

Tough away game for sure, but I'm willing to stay ridiculously optimistic during the first week. Shots 0 Gulls 2. Thanks for the thread Ray.

Traditionally, a very difficult pitch for United to play on, with it being a whopping ten yards longer than Plainmoor and a yard wider ~ and that's with it being made narrower in recent years!
A beautiful playing surface that was 'rolled up & transported' from Stamford Bridge last summer courtesy of Chelsea who use the ground as their u23 home.
This alters the whole dynamic of the game, but I'm not one for predictions of scorlines; only of what lays ahead in the task at hand.

Buzzing for this one! Always a cracking atmosphere and Aldershot have confirmed that the stand behind the goal will be open.
Really difficult to predict, anything can happen, going for a 1-0 win, could fall to either side.
COYY.

Hoping to make this one, providing the M25 behaves itself. Will be my first game in far too long (Woking at home in the cup last season I think).
Would take a draw if offered right now

At risk of incurring the criticism of arrypiglet, I reckon both Tranmere and Aldershot will be in this season's top three. Last time Shots reached the dizzy heights in the National League, we gave them a proper battering at their place on a Tuesday night at the beginning of the season. We'll nick it 2-1 at the death with a Lathrope piledriver. McGinty the other scorer. Ex-Gull Shamir Fenelon for them. 350 away fans in good voice, outdrumming and outsinging the East Bank.

La Fontaine is the one we usually go to. It's at the top of the hill next to the path leading up to the ground.Wraysburygull wrote: ↑07 Aug 2017, 21:13 Well I'm predicting a pint before the match .Best drinking hole near the ground ?

I've just read the posts I think Gray will be playing as I would make this change I won't predict the result but I feel a bit more confident than last season because I never bet, but put a fiver on Torquay to get promoted at 20/1. Yes I pushed the boat out but Ladbrookes would not take a bet for the play off places so they must think Torquay are a threat this season.
