Osborne Sells Up..... To Masters?
I have it on reliable authority from a good source that the deal is done or almost done.
If that's the case then I think we can all breathe a huge sigh of relief because it would mean he's not got his wish and got his dirty hands on the freehold.
I have no information on who the buyer is as yet but I do trust this source so make of it what you will.

I don't doubt you for one minute Dave but this is Torquay.
Personally i need to wait until it has been confirmed officially and even then see who buys the club before getting out the prosecco.
The most promising news though for years.

I really hope you are right, Dave. And that it is not to another property developer.Southampton Gull wrote: ↑13 Mar 2018, 15:31 I have it on reliable authority from a good source that the deal is done or almost done.

Lets not count our chickens just yet, Clarke Osborne isn't the only shark in the water

Well whoever buys it will be getting a NLS club in need of a total overhaul on the pitch. The costs of this alongside poor crowds will make it near impossible to find a genuine buyer.
Remember, no buyer came forward last time when the club had just been relegated from the football league so it is unlikely that any buyer will be getting involved unless there is something in it for them.
In addition, even if the TUST had the funds, Osborne wouldn't sell to a fans group.

Two ways of looking at it, Andy. He loves his football, has done remarkably well to get Truro up the table in the NLS which is where we're headed. Yes he has his negative attributes but not in the way that Osborne does.
He also hates Harrop so I expect the salad dodgers days are numbered

I'd always assumed that Peter Masters couldn't be the owner of two National League sides - which is why he couldn't buy Torquay when Truro got promoted to the NLS. Does tjis mean he's selling Truro City?

Why would Master's bid for Torquay right now? The proposal for the new 'Stadium for Cornwall' goes in front of Cornwall Council this April with the added bonus of an agreement to play at Treyew Road next season allowing them to participate in the play-offs and accept promotion to The National League if the opportunity presents itself.
